Bradford based SafeMove, a trading arm of Yorkshire Water and provider of the official CON29DW Drainage & Water conveyancing report for the Yorkshire region, is hosting another of its’ popular annual Stakeholder days for property and conveyancing professionals in Leeds this coming September.

Aimed at cross-discipline professionals working within the land and property sectors, SafeMove’s Stakeholder Events are a cost-free opportunity for stakeholders within the industry to boost their knowledge first-hand from notable industry experts in an informal setting.

This year’s event will once again take place at the DoubleTree by Hilton at Granary Wharf in Leeds city centre on Wednesday 25th September. Presentations will start at 9.00am and finish at 3.00pm with a complimentary lunch and refreshments being provided.

SafeMove’s Service Delivery Manager, Kelly Norcliffe commented: “As a leading provider of conveyancing searches and the source of Yorkshire Water’s asset record plans, many property and conveyancing professionals trust us to keep them up to date with industry trends and innovations. Our Stakeholder Events help tick those boxes and are proving to be an increasingly popular date in the conveyancing industry calendar in Yorkshire.”

Jill Ratcliffe, Customer Service Manager for SafeMove continues: “This year, having listened to feedback from last year’s event, we’ve made some improvements to the format and have again lined up some influential industry speakers for attendees. These include one of the UKs property market analyst and commentators Kate Faulkner who will be bringing people up to date with forecasts in the property market as well as sharing her insights into how she sees the industry going. Experienced town planning consultant Linda Wright will also be in our line-up. She’ll be leading discussions on the Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) and Section 106 Agreements, the relationship between the two and what it means for housing and land developers.”

Also featured throughout the day will be a live demonstration of the HM Land Registry’s Local Land Charges (LLC) digitisation portal as well as current updates on the scheme presented by Jamie Winch, Policy & Stakeholder Engagement Manager – HM Land Registry.

Other keynote speakers who will be presenting include The Coal Authority who’ll be bringing conveyancers up to date with the latest CON29M official coal report and Lawyer Checker who’ll be looking at the various fraud risks that  law firms face in 2019 and beyond. They’ll spend time discussing vendor conveyancing fraud in its various guises and the ever-growing sophistication of cyber criminals and how law firms can protect themselves against these relevant threats.

Rounding off the day will be SafeMove’s Amy Parkinson, who’ll be helping property lawyers make the right choice between the official CON29DW drainage and water enquiry and the many personal searches that are on the market and why it’s an important choice to make in terms of due diligence, client protection and reputation management.
